KCNQ2 Cure’s mission is to educate and advance research leading to treatments or a cure for patients living with the genetic disorder KCNQ2 early infantile epileptic encephalopathy.

KCNQ2 EIEE is a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy. Children suffer from seizures shortly after birth, have profound intellectual and physical delays, with the majority being non-verbal. In about 50% of the cases, the children also have profound autism. There are approximately 500 known cases in the world today, and with the advancements in genome sequencing and awareness, more families are being diagnosed every day.

KCNQ2 Cure Alliance hosts an annual Summit bringing professionals and families together from around the world. With money raised through donations and fundraisers, we are able to sponsor grants for medical research and advances and offer scholarships to families to attend our conference.
